I love to make a plain sugar cookie (kinda large in diameter) and use a great recipe with all three citrus fruits.
Citrus Trio Buttercream Frosting/Icing——–Serve 12——–Prep time 5-6 minutes
Two Valencia Oranges (washed) zest and juices, one lemon (washed) zest and juice, two limes (washed) zest and juices in a large mixing bowl. 5 cups powdered sugar, 2 tablespoon granulated sugar, 1 stick sweet cream butter (softened), 1/4 teaspoon lemon juice concentrate, you can use a hand mixer or stand mixer but slowly add in Confectioners’ sugar (or you’ll be wearing it, HeHe), cream all ingredients together. It will smell awesome and the consistency will be silky and super creamy.
Make a batch of simple sugar cookies, put a generous serving of Trio of Citrus Buttercream Frosting/Icing on them and sit back and enjoy a few! I am telling you; it is just outrageously delicious!!!
My family goes wild over these. Mom loves to use this recipe on a white sheet pan cake. That is awful good too, I will have to admit. (AH, the original recipe is mine not Mom’s).
